Hello Willard Families!
We finished another great week at Willard, with so many wonderful things happening! As I visited classrooms this week, I noticed so many students being great examples of “The Willard Way.” I am so proud of our students and the kindness, responsibility, and safe choices I see each day.
Every day, our students practice The Willard Way:
Be Respectful
I’ll be kind to my friends and listen to my teacher.
Be Responsible
I’ll be where I’m supposed to be and do what I am supposed to be doing.
Be Safe
I’ll keep my hands, feet, mouth, and objects to myself, with my body in control.
We love when these important life skills are reinforced at home, too!
Student Safety Reminders
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe before and after school. We have a few important reminders:
In the morning, please do not park south of the school and send your child across the street. Buses are pulling in and out of this area. Please use our car drop-off system instead. It works smoothly and gets students safely onto the path leading to the back of the school.
After school, please remain in the car line and stay in your vehicle. Please do not park outside the line and call your child over to you. Students will be released to vehicles once you reach the west curb.
Transportation changes must be communicated through the front office. If your child’s normal way of getting home (walker or bus) changes, please call the office and leave a message. The office will make sure the information gets to the teacher. Please do not rely on messaging the teacher directly, as teachers are busy with students and may not see messages during the school day.
Please notify the office of transportation changes before 3:00 p.m. whenever possible so we have plenty of time to get the information to your child’s teacher.
That’s a lot of information, but student safety is always our priority! Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Next Week:

Each year, our transportation department conducts bus evacuation training for all students. This is a quick safety training completed on a parked bus in front of the school. Students will not leave school grounds.
